Max Daly | Age 5 (but wishes he was 6)

I often feel bad that I don't take many photos of Maxie but he is not a huge fan of the camera.  I have 1000s of Harper so when I get that perfect photo, it makes me happy.  Especially one that captures his awesome smile.

We had to pick up my mum from the airport and were running a little early, so what do you do?  Find the nearest ally and take some photos!  These were with my new iPhone 6 Plus but I wish I had my good camera.  Max was actually letting me take photos and I love how they turned out.  I think part of the reason was because he loves that shirt - he thinks it hilarious there's a mustache riding a bike LOL

5 things about Max Daly
(this is what he is called most of the time, not just Max but Max Daly for some reason lol)

1.  You are currently learning about the solar system at school but you are just loving it.  As soon as you get in the car, you are quizzing us on everything to do with  planets.

2.  We have enrolled you in a new school as you are doing a 'refresher' in Prep.  I know you will be brave and can handle the challenge.

3.  Your favourite thing at the moment is red iceblocks.  You could eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner - if you were allowed

4.  You ask me everyday if we can go to movieworld.  Literally every.single.day.

5.  You are an awesome son & big brother to Harps.  We love you so much and make us prouder  more and more each day.

Project Life ~ Week 7 ~ February 13-19

Better late then never I guess... All of us were sick this week so I hadn't had a chance to update our blog.  There is nothing worse than being really sick yourself and then having kids to look after - that was tough!  Least we are all on the mend which is good though :)

I was really looking forward to PL this week with Valentines Day and all.  I wish we celebrated it as much as they do in America.  I know everyday should be Valentines Day but what is the hurt in a little bit of fun.  Week 7 was definitely a highlight especially with Harper rolling over for the first time and saying her first word - Dad! After months of me pushing 'Mum, Mum, Mum' and even Max saying 'Ma,Ma,Max' she still said Dad.  Dad was happy so Ill give him this one :)  I went to softball training for the first time in like 10 years.  Was really fun and especially going with Michelle but will have to put it off for a while.  Just to hard at the moment with Mathew being away and not being able to commit to games each week.

Here is Week 7:

I was so luck to be able to catch Harper on film just as she was rolling over - which reminds me I should upload the video.  I also included how the kids get so excited when Mathew comes home from work after being away for a few days. I just love sitting back and watching especially Max just attack and wrestle him showing how excited he is to have his Dad home.  I included some new Baby Shower invitations that I had designed during the week... I'm really happy with how they turned out.

After sadly finishing Mockingjay, Ive started reading 'The Help'.  Everyone has said how good the movie is but I really want to read the book before I watch it.  So tempted to just go and watch it but after a few pages I really like it so I think it will pay off.   Valentines Day was quiet for us but Mathew watched the kids while I went for a quick shop.  While I was out they they baked a loved heart shaped cake... very nice.  My favourite photo this week would be Maxie looking out the window at the Garbage Truck.

This has become such a weekly tradition... love it...

Well another week complete and still loving P. Even Hubby has been pretty impressed with it which is encouraging.  At least it means he is more patient when I am taking all these photos... I still want to try and journal more but I just love my photos too much. Hopeful they will continue to just tell the story alone...

Project Life ~ Week 6 ~ February 6 - 12

With my printer out of ink this week, I found it really hard to not just edit and print photos for PL daily.  I had to wait till I could go to Harvey Norman or whever to get them printed out.  It was really frustrating... and I am still waiting for the ink I ordered over a week ago to arrive! argh... I dont know how people handle being weeks behind, I can understand how it happens, but I found it horrible seeing all these blank spaces when I knew I had photos to print and stories to tell.

This week is VERY photo heavy so I am going to make a real effort next week to concentrate on journalling. I just hope the photos tell the story enough...

So heres Week 6:

[caption id="attachment_124" align="aligncenter" width="590" caption="Page 1"][/caption]

I found this film strip template for Instagram through Pinterest and thought it was such a cool idea.  Will definately be printing in a bigger format when I can...

[caption id="attachment_118" align="aligncenter" width="590" caption="Page 2"][/caption]

I made this 6x6 collage in Picasa and used these 6x6 American Craft Page Protectors as something different. I took these serious of photos as I love just watching Max playing with his cars and the concentration on his face. My favourite is the bottom left of course from when you ask him to show you his cool hair and he does his head tilt thinkg - classic :)

[caption id="attachment_119" align="aligncenter" width="590" caption="Page 3"][/caption]

The kids got these bikes for Xmas and it was finally cool enough to take them out for a ride  - Maxie loved it and wasnt too impressed when we turned back to go home.  Just need to teach him how to peddle...

[caption id="attachment_120" align="aligncenter" width="590" caption="Page 4"][/caption]

Sammy stayed over on Saturday night while Shell and Jack went to Mackay for cricket.  Was such a good time - Max loved having a big brother for the night but dont think Sam was so keen on having a little brother.  I took a screen shot of the blog and included it in this weeks layout.  Love seeing it come together.  Maxie helped me make some cupcakes earlier in the week.  He is turning into quite the chef... wish he would watch "My Kitchen Rules" with me :)

I found this picture on Pinterest and I love it - not sure what it is just I guess it just brings back memories. Love it!

I wanted to take notes of all the funny things Maxie has been saying during the week - love how colourful the journal card is which I had to print on photo paper.  Think it would have turned out better if I was able to type the journalling and the card on card stock - oh well... the last note is from the Saturday when I took the kids and whilst waiting to get some invites printed off.  One second he was next to me, the next thing he had gone.  I have never been so frightened in my life.  After about 20 mins and all these people helping me look for him, we had found him at Everyday Living and he did not care the wiser that we had lost each other.  I love him so much but omg he stresses me... he has no fear!

We tried giving Harps her first ever taste of Vegemite and she LOVED it - was just sucking it off the bread like crazy! Max was the same... you'd think the taste would be too strong but nope... my little vegemite kid :)

Definately another full on week in the Daly household. Be interesting to see what next week brings...

As inspired by Sharons blog, I'm sharing this post at Mom Creative and as she says its a great way to check out other layouts.

Please feel free to leave comments or criticism as I love any feedback - thanks for looking!

Project Life ~ Weeks 4 and 5

Cannot believe its February already! Time is going crazy fast! Ive combined Weeks 4 & 5 as I am really behind.

Heres how Weeks 4 and 5 look:

[caption id="attachment_83" align="aligncenter" width="510" caption="Week 4 Page 1"][/caption]

I have just finished reading "Mockingjay" which is the third and final book in "The Hunger Games" trilogy and I really really like it. So cannot wait for the movie to come out in March...

[caption id="attachment_84" align="aligncenter" width="510" caption="Week 4 Page 2"][/caption]

Page 2 and 3 covers our Australia Day celebrations ~ Was so much fun!  We spent the morning with Mathews parents at the Heritage Village Markets but it was sooooo hot... so we didn't last very long there.  We met up with the rest of the Daly crew at Emu Park for a BBQ and a game of cricket.  Was a bit scary when a gas bottle caught on fire at a BBQ a few meters away. 000 were called and omg Max was so excited when they turned up!  They even let him climb through the fire engine and turned the siren and lights on for him - was the highlight of his day :)

[caption id="attachment_85" align="aligncenter" width="510" caption="Week 4 Page 3"][/caption]

The photo above cracks me up as Max just cruised around all day in his jocks and a stack hat.  The photo of Max and Mathew was so cool as when Mathew started to shave, Max wanted to join in.  He thought it was great putting the shaving cream on his face lol... too cute.

[caption id="attachment_86" align="aligncenter" width="510" caption="Week 4 Page 4"][/caption]

This is one of my favourite pages above.  The kids spent the night at Nanny and Poppys and Mathew and I went out on a bit of a date night.  We went to Demedios for dinner and watched the Descendants which was actually pretty boring - thought it would be better then it was...

[caption id="attachment_87" align="aligncenter" width="510" caption="Week 5 Page 1"][/caption]

Max's favourite movie this week is definately "Ro, Ro, Robots" as he calls it. I have seriously lost count on how many times we have watched it this week.  I also included one of my statuses as not long till NRL starts off.  First game is Eels vs Broncos which should be very interesting indeed :)

[caption id="attachment_90" align="aligncenter" width="614" caption="Week 5 , Page 2"][/caption]

Im sooo excited. We have started to plan for Maxs 3rd Birthday.  Ive booked a mini travelling animal farm which is he is going to be STOKED about.  As I may have went a little overboard at Christmas I have no idea what to get him for his birthday so I thought a party would be awesome.  I've sent out some invites to his kindy friends who I hope turn up as he will be so shocked to see them at his house.  Going to be a great day but still a little sad that my little man with be 3!!!

Project Life ~ Week 3 ~ January 16-22

Cannot believe my little Princess is 5 months already...   time is going way too fast :(  This was such an exciting time as Maxie is now toilet trained!  Have never been so proud of our little man!  It was a little stressfull wandering when it was going to happen, but we thought it would happen when hes ready... so proud!

One of my many favourite photos from this week would definately have to be the one of Harps and Max on the bed.  He is just so precious with his sister as I've talked about before.  My other favourite is of Harps drinking her bottle. I love when she looks up at you with those big blue eyes - another moment I want to treasure with the kids.
