Week in the Life | Day 3

Anzac Day today. We didnt get to do anything today for Anzac Day but hopefully next year.  I want our kids to alway know what today means.

Here is Day 3:

I am still really enjoying Week in the Life.  Much easier then when I did Day in the Life where I pretty much documented every hour... Loving these simple and easy templates.

Week in the Life | Day 2

I am really enjoying 'Week in the Life' so far.  I thought our week wouldn't be all that exciting but am loving documenting our boring everyday things.

Here is Day 2:

Week in the Life | Day 1

I was going to not bother doing this this week as Mathew was away but after thinking about it, this is our life at the moment.  Will be interesting to look back and see how we coped when he was away and what life was like.

Week in the Life is an Ali Edwards project.  Check out her link on the sidebar to find out more - definitely recommend it.  Ive been looking forward to this project and the December Daily but that is down the track, much much further down.

Here is Monday in the Daly household:

Im going to print these out at 8.5 x 11 and put them in a separate binder than my PL one as its pretty much full already.  Hope I can stay motivated for the week but we have a busy weekend with birthday parties, football and the circus on Sunday so very much looking forward to it.

Cant wait to see everyone elses pages!

Project Life | Week 14 - April 2 ~ April 8 EASTER WEEK :)

After a big Easter, I'm a bit behind but here is Week 14. Very photo heavy week as expected. We all had such a good Easter weekend and love all the photos. Holidays are becoming even better each year as Max and Harps get older.

I really enjoyed putting this week together. The last few have been a bit of a struggle.

On Easter Friday, we went to a local carnival. Mathew took Max on the dodgems or "crash cars" as Max calls. Love the black and white shot of them. Included a shot of dinner Mathew cooked that was de-lic-ious! Ribs, zucchini and mash potato - my fave! I printed the cards on photo paper with patterns that I like. Love how colourful and fun it turned out.

I took this shot on my iPhone and its one of my fave of all time. Love their smiles :)

I forgot to do Harps 7 month photo shoot so I did it this week and these are some of my favourites. She is such a happy and photogenic baby... Love how these capture her innocence and joy and of course Maxie sneaking into the room.

While I worked on Harps sleeping, Mathew took Max to kinder sports. It's a locally run kids thing where they do obstacle courses and play games. I was sad to have missed it so made Mathew take the camera. He LOVED it. Max loves playing with kids so I knew this would be up his alley. The smile in the photos says it all.

The photo on the left is when we were walking into the carnival. Max was stoked and thought we were going to a birthday party lol...

On Easter Saturday, we met up with the Dalys for a BBQ at the Causeway. Was so nice just relaxing with good company, good weather and great food. It's what family is all about. We stayed the night at the farm so we could do a treasure hunt early in the morning as Mathew and the boys were going fishing. He was into the treasure hunt but not so much into the chocolate??? What 3 yr old doesn't like easter eggs??? He tried one and was like "Yuck"?!

The last pages are a few randoms from the week. I am in love with the photo of Max and Harps. They just adore each other and I just hope it stays that way.

I thought I would try something new as I have seen this done a few times and looks so cute! I just used some easter egg confetti I got from Spotlight and used washi tap to close the pocket up. Think it looks cool...

As I said, I really loved doing this layer and am super happy with the final product.

My binder is almost full so will have to start saving for another and especially for all the new envelopes and page protectors that are coming out soon.

It's nearly Easter!

I just found this post sitting in the draft box... must have forgotten to post it - oops!   I took these photos on the lead up to Easter.  Was so excited for Easter I forgot to push the publish button.

Project Life | Week 13 – March 26 to April 1

What another stressful week in the Daly household with the strikes still ongoing... we try to stay strong and positive but it puts such a dark cloud over us but lucky we have so many positive things to focus on and 2 gorgeous and healthy children.  There must be a light at the end of the tunnel surely although they are talking of it going for months...

On a good note, here are some highlights for Week 13:

- Harper is sitting up for the 1st time, holding her own bottle and in a new car seat :(

- I got to watch Mathew play football here in Rocky even though we ended up at the hospital so he could get stitches from a head clash.  Strange that it was nice to spend some time together even if it was at the hospital :|

- Mathew took Max to Blackwater for the night, so B and I had a girls night

- Changed my hair colour from blonde to brown.

- Finished Photo a Day for March - Yay!

- Bought Maxie his 1st Broncos jersey - Go Yoncos!

Here are my pages

My first page included some shots of Max and Harper playing.  She just loves being able to sit up with Max and play with his toys.  Also a collage of a HUGE icecream Mathew got Max from Baskin Robbins.  Excuse the toilet shot but I had to include and I can always tell where Max has been by the trail of mess he leaves behind - must get that from his dad :|

I had to include the black and white transparent paper as my computer decided to play up while printing my photos.

I also included the Paris pictures I had some on Pinterest. I literally dream about going back there at least once a week.  Putting the photos in gave me a little Paris fix for the week :)

This page has a photo of the kids in their new seats whilst on our way to Sunday dinner at Mathews parents. A shot of Mathew in his Rocky brothers jersey.  Never thought I would see him wear any jersey other than Crushers but he is happier now that he is playing again.  Poor B had the worst rash around her mouth, so I had to take her to the doctors. Poor Darling :(   And finally the before and after of my hair. Its a lot darker than I thought but will just take some time to get used to.

This 3rd page was really rushed as my printed decided to play up - argh!  LOVE this photos of the kids in the bath.  Favourite time of the day.  A photo of Maxie eating icecream at the camp on their "boys trip".  Was nice for the two of them to spend some time together. am LOVING this 'We are young' song so had to include that and last a bit of  a story about our girls night. Was strange not having Maxie home... missed him.

I took a photo of B when she first woke up.  These are the things I want to remember as Max grew up so fast I cant really remember those moments - shocking memory.   I included a collage of the photobook I made from Christmas 2011 (finally!!).  I ordered this book from Kikki K and really happy with how it turned out.  Next project is Harpers Christening.

I included the photos of Harps big moments this week and finally I have seen people do this and really wanted to try the whole 1 photo in 4 sleeves thing.  I chose this photo as it reminds me of Max and how he has to go outside everyday and find the moon.  It's just so sweet.  He just stares at it with amazement.  This shot he took me outside and the sunset was so pretty. I'm happy with how it turned out :)

Not long until Easter!!! So excited for the Easter Bunny to come and have an easter egg hunt in the morning.  Plus there is a carnival on at the moment so we re going to take Maxie to that.  Good times ahead :)

Project Life | Week 12 – March 19 to March 25

Week 12 was such a great week with Max's 3rd birthday on the Monday.   We spent the morning at Crazy Joker and went to Big W where he spent his birthday money on surprise surprise - cars.  This weeks layout is a mix from the Monday birthday celebrations, Mathew first footy game with Brothers and a few bits and pieces.

The photo of Harper above I LOVE as this is after her very first taste of chocolate cake and OMG did she love it!  Chocolate lover like her mum :)  the photo next to it has to be one of my all time favourites - a special moment of Harps and her Nan caught of camera.

This is a template I have found and included in this weeks layout as it includes the guest list, some highlights from the party, food etc.  Thought it might be nice to document the day.

I included this collage of some photos from the day.  Awhina Williams a friend of ours came and took these gorgeous photos. Love her for it :)

I included Maxs birthday cards and have just placed in a plastic envelope.  Not sure if I will keep it in our PL as it is quite bulky.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the black and white shot of Max in the cubby house, his fire engine cake was a big hit and he was asking for it the next day.  When I would ask him 'Did you have a good party' he would answer 'Yay fire truck cake ' and a photo of him in his outfit... he looks so smart in the Ralph Lauren Polos...

I found this questionnaire on etsy here and just thought it was just a nice idea to document where Max is at and what he is into. You ask the same questions each year.  Love the idea...

Heaps of photos on this page.  Had such a good time on Saturday - it was my sister's birthday so we went and watched 'The Hunger Games'.  I wouldn't say they are as good as the books but definitely a great movie.  We went to dinner at Megalomania and OMG the food was the die for...  I wasnt really keen for dressing up or drinks but so glad that I went. Plus it gave me a chance to wear my new, very overpriced, jacket.

I had to include of copy of this bill.  My aim with PL was to keep it positive and focus on the good goings on in our life but I almost died when I saw how much our electricity bill was.  I know of people who had an ever bigger bill but nearly $1000 just blows my mind. I feel so bad for the people who can't afford to have air cons on as it was a HOT summer.

Happy 3rd Birthday Max Daly!

We celebrated Maxies 3rd Birthday with an Animal Farm, his jumping castle and lots of family and friends that love and care about him.  Was such a great day and he was just in his element.  I did go a little OTT with the party but it was his first real party as we were always way out in Blackwater and away from family so I thought why not...

Here are some great shots from the day...

My Father in Law actually bought the pig from the Animal Farm.  Her name is Pumba and he just hangs out at my mother in laws house and follows all the dogs around and sleeps with him - just part of the family.

Harps & Aunty Peta Maree

Brother & Sister Love

Overall it was a fantastic day and the birthday boy had a blast and that is all that matters,

Maxie is our little miracle & I still cannot believe 3 + years ago we started on our IVF journey till the best moment when we  finally got to meet him and hold him in our arms. From seeing him as a tiny little frozen embryo to the awesome little man he is today.  Love him to bits.

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY MAXIE!

Project Life | Week 11 – March 12 to March 18

Week 11 was really busy with us getting ready for Max's big 3rd Birthday Party!  We came back from Sydney on the Monday and was straight back into party preparations.

Max's fire engine cake arrived on the Friday and was so just wanted to show him .  The poor thing was that sick I had to keep him home from day care as I just wanted him to rest so hopefully he was a little better by his party on the Saturday.

How cool is that green high chair thing from Ikea... gosh I wish there was an Ikea in Rocky.  Probably better for our bank account that there's not but its not even that expensive. Will have to make a trip to Brisbane one day...

Project Life | Week 10 - March 5 to March 11

Wow I am so behind with my posts...

Week 10  was a quiet week at first and then at the end of the week I received a call from my sister saying my Nan was in the hospital in Sydney & it wasnt looking good.  My Nan is the best Nan you could ask for.  I was so many fond memories of her and I hope I can be half the Nan she was to me.... but that is wayyyyyyyy down the track.  It was heartbreaking to see her how she was.  Love you Nan xoxo

Here is Week 10

Excuse the bad quality but the photos are so bad.  I need to look into how to take better photos.  On the Friday we had to take Harps for her 6 month needles :(  OMG I dread this more than anything but it has to be done.  Its funny how their personalities and characters develop more and more each day.  She has definately becoming more independant with wanting to feed herself and loving her finger foods but whenever Ollie comes on the TV she stops what she is doing and has to watch.  She usually has a cute little smile on her face especially when he sings... I think its a he???

[caption id="attachment_215" align="aligncenter" width="590" caption="Right Page"][/caption]

The right page is a few pics from the trip to Sydney with my sister Laura.  As bad as the reason was as to why we had to go, it was nice to spend some time with her, fly home and especially see my Dad, my brother and his kids.  Laura and have a slight obsession with Kikki K and are always buying online and then when we saw the actual shop at the Terminal we squealed like little school girls... HAD to take a photo...

I made Lasagne for the 1st time ever (well from scratch anyway) and it wasn't too bad for my first attempt. I included some of the funny things Maxie has been saying and couldn't resist another photo of Max and Mathew crashed out in bed... just melts my heart... and finally included a photo of Harps asleep in my arms.  Something I wish I had more of Max of as they grow up way too fast and its such a sweet moment.

Well that's week 10...  have to remember to look into taking better photos of my pages...

Project Life ~ Week 9 ~ February 27th to March 4th

Another quiet week with the kids still not 100% with this bug that is going around.  Just seems to be hanging around...  I went photo crazy again! But I love some of the shots I got this week...  Will try and get some more natural everyday photos next week.

Here is Week 9:

Excuse the dodgy black and white photo in the middle.  I had my first attempt of using rub ons and it didnt go so well.  Need to reprint... one day :)  My nearly 3 year has been throwing the worst tantrums, throw himself on the ground type tantrums and how do I react.  Take a deep breath and take a photo!

After being stuck in the house we decided to take the kids to the local zoo & Max LOVES to feed the ducks...  was nice just chilling out as a family.  I forgot my good nikon camera so had to use my iPhone.  Photos didn't turn out too bad. LOVE the photo of the 4 of us...  I used the Instagram app which also gave me a chance to use these American Crafts page protectors. Cannot even remember buying them!

On the back I just printed some of my favourite photos on my phone for the week.  I have been practicing my "photography" and love how the one Harps with her little nappy covers on...  the light in her room in the afternoon is perfect.  Helps to have a cute model too...  love her little jeggings and she finally fits in a pair of shoes!  The photo of the 4 of us at the bottom is me playing with the remote I got for my camera.  so much fun and it nice to get natural photos.  Some afternoons we just all chill out in Harps room and play and Max does his little sing and dance show for us.  Her room just has a really nice energy about it...

Our Day in the Life collage from March 1st...

Lost count of how many times we have watched Bolt this week and Max has loved reading  "Dear Zoo" over and over.  I love seeing how kids are like sponges and he just takes so much in.  On Wednesday I took Harps to get her ears pierced :( which I sort of regret.  She looks grown up!  Pretty but grown up...

As I mentioned in my previous post, my Dear Lizzy scrap stuff arrived from the US so was dying to use it.  I had already journalled how I was photo mad this week so I attached this button - isn't it just the cutest!
